My Story Begins on the Banks of the Moselle

Growing up along the Moselle River in Trier, Germany, gave me something no classroom could: a firsthand understanding of how travel reshapes the way you see the world, connect with others, and think about what is possible.

I grew up watching travelers arrive wide-eyed and leave transformed. I understood early that the river was not just scenery. It was a doorway. And once that door opens, nothing looks quite the same again.

That understanding earned on the banks of one of Europe's most beautiful rivers is at the heart of everything I do today.

You Do Not Pay More. You Get More.

My name is Danny Stahl. I am a Certified Travel Advisor based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and one of the few advisors in the country holding brand certifications from Viking, AmaWaterways, Tauck, Silversea, Backroads, and Globus simultaneously. That credential combination is not a collection of certificates on a wall. It is the foundation of expertise that works for you from the moment we speak.

The Moment Everything Shifted

My career began where my heart was: as a Travel and Activities Director for Active 55+ communities, turning itineraries into experiences that mattered to real people at real moments in their lives. I learned early that the difference between a good trip and an unforgettable one is almost never the destination. It is the details: the right cabin, the right departure, the right excursion, the insider access that no one thinks to ask for until they wish they had.

From there, I moved inside one of the world's leading cruise lines, learning the industry from the inside out and building the relationships that now go to work for every client I serve. I know how these lines operate behind the scenes. I know which cabin categories are worth the upgrade and which are not. I know which departures sell out first, which promotions disappear quietly, and which experiences are worth every penny of the price difference.

I walked away from corporate quotas and a transaction-driven culture to do this the right way, with honesty, with intention, and with you at the center of every decision.

I offer something special that big booking engines can't: genuine guidance, personalized recommendations, and heartfelt support.

You have been dreaming about this trip. The river at sunset. The ancient ruins. The vineyard at harvest. The safari at dawn.

Six Reasons Booking Through Me Is a Better Decision Than Booking Direct

Most travelers assume that using a travel advisor adds a fee. It does not. The commission comes entirely out of the cruise line's budget, never from yours. What changes when you book through me is not the price. It is everything else.

1. You Pay the Same Price and Often Pay Less

Cruise lines and tour operators compensate advisors from their own revenue. Your fare does not change.

When you book through me, you gain access to:

  • Exclusive promotions and unpublished rates not listed on the public website

  • Cabin upgrades, onboard credits, and amenity packages

  • Early-booking perks I am notified about before they go public

  • Group rate advantages when traveling with five or more staterooms

I have helped clients save up to $2,000 per couple on sailings they were about to book directly simply because I knew about a promotion they did not.

2. You Are Already Paying for Expert Advice, You May as Well Receive It

Every cruise fare includes an advisor commission whether you use one or not. The only question is whether you choose to receive the expertise that commission pays for.

What you get when you book with me:

One advisor. Six elite certifications. I'm one of the only advisors in the country certified by Viking, AmaWaterways, Tauck, Silversea, Globus, and Backroads, so you get expert guidance in one conversation instead of 30 hours of research.

Booking direct means reaching a general reservations line staffed by agents handling hundreds of calls a day. Booking through me means reaching someone who knows your name, your travel history, and your preferences.

3. One Conversation Replaces 20 to 30 Hours of Research

The average traveler spends up to 30 hours researching before booking, comparing itineraries, policies, and decoding what "all-inclusive" means.

The research I do that most travelers cannot replicate on their own:

  • Side-by-side itinerary comparisons across AmaWaterways, Viking, Tauck, Oceania, Silversea, Globus, and Backroads

  • True all-in cost analysis: headline fare plus gratuities, transfers, excursion packages, and pre and post-hotel stays

  • Current promotion stacking: identifying which early-booking offers and cabin upgrades can be combined

4. Personalized, Human Attention, Not a Phone Tree

When you call direct, you reach a reservations agent with no memory of your previous conversation. When you call me, you always get me.

  • I remember that you prefer upper-deck cabins and that you celebrate your anniversary in October.

  • I notice when a promotion launches that applies to a sailing you mentioned six months ago.

5. Recommendations Built on First-Hand Knowledge

My recommendations come from actual study and experience, not from glossy brochures or what's trending on a booking platform.

Specific questions I can answer that most sources cannot:

  • Which stateroom category is worth the upgrade and why

  • The real difference between a Tauck African safari in Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, and South Africa

  • Why the Rhine at Christmas is a different experience than the Danube

That depth of knowledge is what turns a “nice trip” into the one you talk about for the rest of your life.

6. A Real Advocate When Something Goes Wrong

Cruise lines respond differently to individual direct bookers versus advisors with established relationships. Individual bookers get the standard process. My clients get faster responses and better outcomes.

What that means for you:

  • Your cabin assignment does not match your request; I will escalate this to the cruise line's executives rather than open a case.

  • A medical situation requires a last-minute cancellation; I know the insurance policies, cruise line policies, and fastest path to resolution

You are never just a booking number. You are one of my clients, and cruise and land tour operators know that.
