The Short Answer: Which Cruise Is Best for Couples?
Seabourn is the most romantic all-around choice: a yacht-style ship of 458–600 guests, every restaurant and drink included, and signature moments like Caviar in the Surf. Tauck is best for a once-in-a-lifetime milestone: under-200-guest Ponant yachts that sail right into Venice, private evenings in palaces, and nearly everything included. Viking is the best value for couples: a free tour in every port, wine with every lunch and dinner, a free thermal spa, and adults-only ships at the lowest fare of the three.
What most "best cruise for couples" posts miss in 2026–2027
Big ships can't sail into Venice. Since August 2021, ships over 25,000 gross tons (or 180 m long) are barred from the Giudecca Canal. Viking and Seabourn use Fusina or Chioggia; Tauck's small Ponant yachts can still dock in Venice itself.
